Amazing Nature: Mimicry

Wasp mimic hover fly on tithonia, sucking nectar. Note the specialized "suctorial proboscis." Also note how the fly is stabilizing the flower's tubule with its front appendages.
This fly really does look like a wasp.
In addition to being shown at ANMPAS, the image received Honor Mention in the International Photo Awards One-Shot Harmony-Nature Competition and was a Nominee in the 11th Annual International Color Awards.
