Nature: Blooming Onion in Black and White, Severe Protanopia
Seeing true blacks, whites, and grays requires seeing the full spectrum of the human eye, the reds, greens, and blues. The person who sees little to no red will see the world in shades of blue, green, and cyan. For years I was puzzled that when my son was three, he and my father kept talking about "the blue team" and "the yellow team" while watching a football game on a black and white television. Many years later, as a result of this work, I have learned they were not teasing me. Rather, they were talking with each other about a shared reality. The joke was on me, but the joke was my ignorance.
