Food: Biscochitos, the State Cookie of New Mexico, Severe Protanopia
The color of food...Several years ago, before I began this work, I had read that some "colorblind" people perceived peanut butter as green. I thought, "Well, that must be pretty unappetizing." My son likes peanut butter, as did my father, so I assumed, in my ignorance, that *they* did not see peanut butter as green. This image was chosen by my son for inclusion in this series, because he really likes biscochitos. I've learned over the years that he has a compensatory, and rather amazing, heightened sense of smell. To me, this image illustrates that color vision affects every single detail of daily life experiences, and that there is not a single "TRUTH" about any one thing in life. Digital Photography has both taught and allowed me "To See Through the Eyes of Others."
